REQUIREMENTS FOR RENTING

What is the minimum age to rent a car?

25 years old with a full and open driver’s licence. Some cars we rent to people over 30 years only.

How many drivers can I have?

You can have up to 2 drivers. Extra charges apply.

What driver licence requirements do I need to hire a Prestige vehicle?

You must hold a full, current and valid drivers licence that has been held for a minimum of 12 consecutive months. A learner or provisional licence is not accepted.

What do I need to bring with me to the rental counter to rent a vehicle?

You must present the below:

  • Physical, valid credit or debit card/s in your name.
  • Physical, current, full and valid drivers licence in the main driver’s name.
  • Any additional drivers must also be present at the time of rental and provide a current, full and valid drivers licence/s.
  • Some prestige cars are rented only to safe drivers, which is assessed based on the number of accumulated demerit points. If this applicable to the car you rent, we may ask for evidence for your demerit point records.

Please note: We do not accept cards presented on phones/watches. You must present a
physical card.

Is there a maximum age for renting a car?

We can hire to drivers who are up to 75 years old as long as they have a valid open license.

Can anyone other than myself drive the vehicle and is there a charge?

Only those whose names are recorded on the Rental Agreement may drive the car.
If someone else drives the car that voids the Rental Agreement and any applicable insurance policies. In case of an incident (e.g. accident) happens while someone else is in the driver’s seat, you may be liable to pay all costs out of pocket.

Can I rent a car using a temporary drivers licence?

We do not accept a temporary drivers licence as it’s usually issued as a replacement for a lost licence
or due to a change of address.

How do I pay for my rental?

You can pay using cash, Bank Transfer (EFT) or using a Mastercard, Visa or American Express card registered in your name.

Do you allow long-term rentals for corporate clients and/or offer corporate rates?

What is a Rental Agreement?

Your Rental Agreement consists of 2 parts; Part A and Part B.
Part A: contains details of your personal information, your vehicle information, payment method, coverages and rental preferences.
Part B: contains applicable Terms and Conditions for the rental.
Remember to read all fine print carefully as it’s a legal binding document.

Is there a surcharge for credit cards?

Yes, for Mastercard and Visa, there is a 2% surcharge. There is a 3% surcharge for American Express usage.

ACCESSORIES

Can I hire baby/booster seats?

Yes, we have a good range of baby and booster seats available. However, you need to book a seat before the day of car collection.

Can you fix the baby/booster seat for me?

If you have booked a Baby/Booster seat as a part of your reservation, we will place the seat in the vehicle for you. However, you are required to install the seat/s and ensure they are fit for use and installed correctly.

Do you supply roof racks, or can I bring my own?

We do not provide roof racks or allow their use. This is due to the damage they cause to the
vehicles.
In our experience, even the soft style of roof racks cause some damage and are therefore we do
not allow them.

DRIVING YOUR RENTAL CAR

Where can I take the vehicle?

You can use the vehicle anywhere in Australia on properly formed and sealed roads. You must not drive the car on unsealed or gravel roads.

Can you take the vehicles on gravel roads?

No. Our vehicles are for use on sealed roads only. If you have an accident on an unsealed road, your insurance is null and void.

Can I collect/drop off the car at the Adelaide Airport?

Yes, we can hire vehicles from the Adelaide Airport short-term parking area at a pre-agreed time.
You can also return the car at the short-term parking area at a pre-agreed time.
Extra charges apply if you delay arriving at the collection/return point.

Can I take the car to Kangaroo Island?

Yes, if we have authorized you to do so in writing. However, you must not drive the vehicle between dusk and dawn outside the town limits

Can I take the car to interstate?

Generally, we allow using our vehicles within SA only. However, if you wish to drive the cars interstate, you can, but only if we have authorised you to do so in writing.

RETURNING YOUR CAR

Do I have to fill up the car on return?

Yes, the cars are hired out full of fuel and are to be returned full of fuel. If you do not return the vehicle full of fuel you will be charged for fuel used plus a refilling charge.

What happens if I have an accident or damage my rental car?

In the event of an accident or damage it is important not to panic. Contact the rental location as noted on the rental agreement document.
All accidents involving bodily injury must be reported to the police where the accident occurred. The driver is required to complete and file an incident report. In addition, the driver must complete and file any accident reports required by local authorities.
